Indonesian is the one Southeast Asian language in four sets
Four of the nine vendors that declare a site language declare Indonesian. It is the most widely declared Southeast Asian language in this register, and the only one appearing in both of the two longest declared sets. As of 2026-09-22.
| Vendor | Code as declared | Form of the code | The set it sits in |
|---|---|---|---|
| CapCut | id-ID | Region-tagged | 27 locales, every one but English region-tagged |
| Kling AI | id | Bare language code | 20 bare codes |
| PixVerse | id | Bare language code | 13 bare codes |
| SceneMixer | id | Bare language code | 15 codes, one of them script-tagged |
Inclusion rule. Vendors declaring this language as a same-host hreflang alternate. A vendor serving the language without declaring it cannot be seen by this method and is not listed. Order. Alphabetical by vendor.
1The region's entry point
Five Southeast Asian languages appear anywhere in this column: Indonesian, Malay, Thai, Vietnamese and Filipino. This one is declared by four vendors, Thai and Vietnamese by three each, and Malay and Filipino by two.
So a vendor entering the region translates its pages into this language first. With a quarter of a billion speakers and a large mobile-first audience for short video, that ordering is what a commercial reading would predict.
2One tagged declaration, three bare
One vendor writes id-ID, naming the country. The other three write the bare code. Since the language is effectively national to one country, the tag adds less here than it would for Portuguese or Spanish.
The interesting neighbour is Malay, which is closely related and declared by two vendors, one of them as ms-MY. A reader in Kuala Lumpur cannot assume an Indonesian declaration covers them, and nothing in this column says whether it does.
3Four site pages, no published output
Not one of these four vendors publishes a list of the languages its output can speak. So a producer making a series for Indonesia can confirm that four companies want their business and can confirm nothing about the finished video.
That is the sharpest version of the gap this register records. The region with the fastest-growing short-video audience is addressed in the cheapest column and in neither of the two that describe the product.
4Sources
Each row was read from the vendor's own markup on 2026-09-22 and is kept in the register; what counts as a declaration is on how counted. The region as a whole is on the Southeast Asia market page.
Languages either side of this one in the index: German and Italian. Every language any vendor declares is listed at one language at a time.
