Empty cell: a statement about a vendor page, not a product

An empty cell means the vendor publishes nothing on the question in a place a reader can open. It is not a finding that the capability is missing, and in two of the three columns here it is the most common state. As of 2026-09-22.

Inclusion rule. The readings a blank cell admits, with the one this register asserts marked. The other three would need evidence the register does not hold. Order. The asserted reading first.

1A gap in disclosure is a finding of its own

Most of these products plainly generate audio, and several plainly generate it in more than one language. None of the vendors with an empty voice cell says which, anywhere a buyer can check before paying.

That gap is the thing the register records. Filling the cell from a product description, a demo video or a support reply would replace a checkable absence with an unrepeatable presence.

2Two columns here are mostly blank

Half of the vendors read here publish nothing about the language of their spoken output, and all but one publish nothing about the language of the documents their products generate. A register of only the filled cells would be a much shorter and much less honest document.

So the blanks are exported to the data file alongside the rest. A market with no claims is the finding a buyer in that market most needs, and dropping those rows would make the file tidier and mean less.

3A blank is dated like everything else

Each cell carries the day the vendor pages were read. A blank from six months ago is a statement about six months ago, and on language lists that is long enough to matter.

Which is also why an empty cell is never written as a dash and left at that. The register prints an absence phrase with the reading date in it, so the claim being made is visible on the face of the cell.

A definition, not a measurement: no vendor figure appears here that is not also in the register. Both output columns are read as a whole on their own column pages.
